Devotional Day 4 - The Foundation Of Diaconal Service

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥: The first deacons were appointed not to hold authority but to meet a need that was going unmet. Widows were being overlooked. Someone had to notice, and someone had to act. The men chosen were full of the Spirit and wisdom, not simply skilled administrators. The result of their faithful service was stunning: the Word of God kept spreading, and the number of disciples increased greatly. Never underestimate the spiritual impact of practical service. When physical needs are met with a servant's heart, the gospel advances. What you do in the name of Christ, no matter how ordinary it appears, carries eternal weight.
